When you think you are rock bottom and life is unfair to you, maybe you should take a walk through a hospital.
I chatted with a partial blind patient, who used an oxygen tank to support his breathing before he had to go kidney dialysis. Mr Tham was his name, he had diabetes problems, and it troubled him for 30 years. He is 52 now, and i can imagine how the illness had taken a toil on his life.
However, i would not have know all these if he did not tell me abt it. He was quite bubbly and cheerful compared to many of the patients i saw there. If you were there like me, you would have offered him a set of newspapers to read, only to find out he is partially blind.
Both his kidneys were damaged, and he had to do dialysis coz he had no kidney to transplant. Because of his chronic diabetes condition, he suffer a stroke before and therefore cant be treated normally. He told me the doctors are hesitate to operate on him as a full body anathesia will affect his already-weak heart. He is on a constant oxygen supply, and have to carry a large oxygen tank on wheels to the toilet occasionally. How can a cheerful person be having so many problems? Or a better question is, how can a person in such disheartening state remain in gd spirits?
On the other hand, my dad cried and was depressed abt his toe amputation that he cried much often, i was lost. It was a great difference. i thought of many things. Life is really wat you make up of it.
We can choose to be happy or sad, really. Do the things you wan, if it harms no one.
